Hosting and EPOS management

On one hand computers get easier and easier to use, but at the same time system critical computers get more and more challenging to maintain and support as they have to do so much more.  Traditional EPOS companies will install a server at your site that contains the system critical back office software, and at Centegra we still do this too.

However there is a growing trend among users to rely on service providers to host and maintain they data, from online e-mail to your personal picture libraries.  One reason for this is that generally it is considered more reliable than to keep data on a home PC or server.

The same is true for critical systems. We see only too often that a server will breakdown, catch a virus or suffer from local users doing things they should not. At the same time there is often no one available with the technical knowledge to fix or rebuild the system without incurring considerable costs or employing specialists.  We also see that in the hospitality industry there is often a lot of movement of staff, thus trained staff can leave and take with them critical system knowledge that causes costs to replace.

We have seen a much greater take up in hosted services in the last year and have found it to be a reliable and cost effective solution, saving some companies many thousands of pounds per annum.

One of the benefits of working with Centegra is the hosting service and options we can offer.  With our server farm we can host standalone servers, virtual servers, shared servers and combinations of these.  Our QEM product for example resides across several servers incorporating web servers, database servers, POS Servers and communications servers.  These systems are protected by UPS (uninterruptable power supplies) to cope with short term outages, back-up systems, web security and redundant access.

Levels of service

We can offer to host your system on a dedicated server or host it on a virtual server or link you in to a shared server farm based service.  But in addition to simply hosting the servers we can also manage the system, provide a full bureau service or mange your entire EPOS operation.
